Blogging On The Go

Human beings seem to have an innate desire to be heard. The Internet has given a platform to anyone who has a desire to speak. Whether it is to proselytize from the far fringes of politics or to simply post your own make-up tutorials online, anyone with the desire to share is now enabled to do so. The advent of mobile technology gives everyone the opportunity to share their thoughts the second they pop into their head. Quick quips or funny photos can be spread across the world well before the sender gets home to a desktop computer.

Mobile apps like the Facebook and Twitter apps allow people to post random musings and funny thoughts to their friends and followers in an instant. Combining these apps with the cameras that come standard on most smartphones, these same people can take a picture of the ridiculous outfit someone is wearing, that funny sign with the terrible grammar or the gorgeous sunset off their balcony and post them immediately online. And since the photo quality has dramatically improved in recent months, these pictures don’t have to be grainy and fuzzy cell pictures, they can be panoramic vistas meant to impress.

The iPad and other mobile tablet technologies only make mobile blogging easier. Blogging via SMS texting to sites such as Blogger and WordPress meant you could compose a “proper” blog post on the go, but were limited to what you could type with your thumbs.  Now mobile bloggers are offered the luxury of a more standard keyboard combined with the network access and portability of a smart phone. Any and every thought is ready to go out into the wild and crazy world of the Internet at a moment’s notice. Blogging on the go allows eyewitnesses to breaking news to get their perspective out there just as easily as you can show all your Facebook friends a drunken rambling.
